About Me

Hi! Thanks for checking out my site. While I’m still trying to get the hang of designing and building a blog, I hope you’ll still enjoy my posts, recipes, photos, videos and make some contributions of your own.

I told Erin she would regret forcing me to take this pic. So here we go!

About me: My girlfriend and I recently to Norfolk, Va to pursue her Phd. in Crazy. Haha. Just kidding. I’ve loved food since I was a kid growing up with my grandmothers cooking terrific, hearty meals with such love. Also, my parents would cook us meals from all over the world to expose us to different cultures and keep things interesting. As I grew up, I started working in the restaurant industry, going from humble dishwasher to cook and switched over to serving and eventually coffee barista in college. Though I was studying Video Production, my passion for food never left and I started my own show called “Campus Cook” showing fellow students how to create home-style meals from scratch using appliances you could have in the dorms.

Now that I’ve graduated, it’s time to move out of the dorm room and into a real kitchen. I hope that with “Casual Cook” you will learn fun and interesting techniques and recipes to feed your loved ones. And if you have any tips or tricks of your own, please share them in the comment section or email me at thecasualcookblog@gmail.com. Thanks for stopping by!

Update 04/29/12: Erin is no longer my girlfriend. I am happy to announce that she is now officially my fiance! We are both really excited and hopefully we can figure out the catering without breaking the budget. Haha!
